Casio G-Shock Classic White

I just got this new Casio G-Shock "Classic" white in the mail on Monday and I have had time to try it out for a few days. It fits very well and looks nice and big. The white case and band really make this a great watch. It goes especially well with t-shirts. The case height is very tall, so it is not the greatest with dress shirts or suits. It is very sporty and very easy to operate. I personally love this watch and you cannot beat the price, sub- $100. It has received numerous compliments, with people saying they especially like the color. Just search "white G-Shock" if you really want one or leave a comment and I will respond back to you with buying info. These are limited edition, so there may not be many left.

51-30 Dive Watches by NIXON

nixon_blackdiver.jpg

This is the new Nixon 51-30 PU, it costs $370, which is a $70 price bump over the base price, just for the black color. The price may be higher, but so is the tightness factor. I threw in a picture of the 51-30, essentially the same model with a steel bracelet, after the jump. That one costs $400, which is $50 more than the base model price.

The movement is Swiss with a tide function. The case is water resistant to 300 m and has a hardened mineral crystal, external rotating bezel with countdown timer and a screw down crown. I would have liked to see a sapphire crystal, considering the case is a massive 47 mm wide which means the crystal is around 43-45 mm wide, so it is very prone to scratching.

Titanium Aluminum Nitride by URWERK

via Professional Watches

URWERK has just created a limited edition wristwatch that utilizes a new metal treatment process called Titanium Aluminum Nitride Coating. The treatment is said to be the hardest coating used in watchmaking, it is even harder than DLC (diamond like carbon). The color that results from this process can range from bronze to black and depends on the ratio of Titanium/Aluminum. This particular TiAlN treatment appears to have a chocolate brown color. This technology is very cutting-edge and I am sure many savvy watchmakers will follow suit.

Seamaster NZL-32 by Omega

[ via Professional Watches ]

The OMEGA Seamaster NZL-32 was named after the boat that won the America's Cup in 1995. The coolest function on this certified chronometer is regatta countdown timer. The “start of the regatta” function clearly indicates the ten minutes preceding the starting signal by means of a special five-dot indicator. The dots gradually fill with a different colour ─ first blue, then red ─ as each successive five-minute period elapses. The OMEGA calibre 3602 self-winding movement is chronometer-certified and has a 40-hour power reserve.

Hublot Big Bang Diamond Watch

[ via ProfessionalWatches ]

This one-of-a-kind Hublot Big Bang Diamond watch was featured at BaselWorld this week. This watch is a tourbillon and uses a "mystery" setting so you don't actually see the settings, only the stones (493 of diamonds). They say this watch took 2,000 hours to create and at the price of $1 million that is has already been sold for, all those man hours have been more than paid for.

Oakley Judge Stealth Black

Oakley

Another cool Oakley watch that is a bit overpriced at $650. The stealth black agressive look with stopwatch functionality is nice.

The difference between an ordinary stopwatch and a true chronograph is the precision of 10-jewel Swiss Movement. This intuitive design features a sub dial for logging minutes and hours, plus a sweeping second hand that accelerates to the current moment when pause is released. Surgical stainless steel forms the durable case.

BATHYS HAWAII

[ via ProfessionalWatches ]

Check out this beautiful shot of a BATHYS Hawaii 100 Fathom Automatic Dive watch in Ultraviolet PVD. This automatic version is a steal at $795 and an even better bargain is the quartz version at $375. Founded in 2005 BATHYS watches are designed in Hawaii and Swiss Made.
At these prices it is hard to argue that anything more is needed, but my only suggestion would be to make the buckle into a clasp design so it is easier to take on and off.

Below is an up close photo of the Ultraviolet PVD buckle.

TAG Heuer Bluetooth Watches

I found this picture of TAG Heuer bluetooth enabled wristwatches on the web. I have been hearing rumors that TAG Heuer will be entering the cell phone market in the near future. What is even cooler is the wristwatches they appear to be planning to introduce. Even if I did not buy a TAG Heuer cell phone I would love to buy a bluetooth enabled wristwatch that is compatible with any bluetooth phone.

TAG Heuer Monaco Python

tagheuer_monacopython.jpg

TAGheuer VIA Professionalwatches

TAG Heuer has introduced a new Monaco line for women. Their new line includes very big watches which are now popular even for women's wristwatches. This particular watch features another hot trend also, it is brown. The new Monaco Python for women is both big and brown and I love it. I love very sporty watches, but the fashion statement watches are making these days have been driving high end wristwatch sales.

Patek Phillipe Nautilus Moon 3712

According to Kronosblog.com, this specific Patek Phillipe Nautilus model is one of the rarest of them all. I guess the 3712 model is more rare than the 5712, although I am sure there are many Patek watches that are more rare.

Franck Muller's Aeternitas Version II Perpetual

Professional Watches

Franck Muller's new Aeternitas Version II Perpetual Calendar wristwatch has a world-first indefinitely functioning year indicator along with an east and west press button 24 hour function. Two time zones utilizing a 24-hour hand are placed either side of the tourbillon at 5 and 7 o’clock and can be set by pushbuttons on the side of the case. The time zone indicator on the right is conceived for travelling eastwards and therefore moves one hour ahead at each press of the corrector on the right side of the case. The time zone indicator on the left is designed for travelling westwards and therefore moves back an hour with each press of the corrector on the left side of the case. Just above the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, is the year indicator which functions from 0 to 999 and then continues along its merry way indefinitely. Now that’s a world-first.

Citizen Watch for $5000?

I really really like Citizen watches because they are such a good value. Especially the ECO-Drive titanium wristwatches. They are accurate, never need a battery, they are very hard to scratch and they look pretty nice. Well this practical watch company has finally come out with what appears to be a mid to high end wristwatch called the Citizen Capanolas and I want one now. Considering they are the largest watchmaker in the world I would think they could sell these at a reasonable price, although I am guessing they will be between $700-$1000. If they look as good in person as they do in these high res images I would pay that amount.

Exotic Tantulum Wristwatch

Here is a Gerald Genta wristwatch with a Tantulum case. Tantalum has several interesting properties. It is hypoallergenic, almost as heavy as gold (yet much harder) and is as resistant as glass against corrosion and acids. Tantalum is a very dark metal that gets purplish color over time and feels warm to the touch, contrary to steel that feels cold.

Panerai Ferrari Limited EditionWristwatch

Check out this awesome Ferrari wristwatch from the Italian watchmaker Panerai. Ferrari signed an agreement with Panerai after the Girard-Perregaux agreement ended. Ferrari and Panerai are both Italian manufacturers which makes a much better partnership. The watches look much better than the Girard-Perregaux Ferrari watches.

IWC Aquatimer Wristwatch in Miami Vice

Here is an image from the set of Miami Vice the movie with Jamie Foxx wearing a nice big IWC Aquatimer wristwatch. I read a lot about people who hate product placement within movies. Me personally I love it, why not feature the products in real life as opposed to some cheesy commercial.

New Panerai Ferrari Chronograph

This new Panerai/Ferrari chronograph is awesome. After the partnership between Girard-Perregaux and Ferrari expired, Panerai picked up where Girard left off. I really think Officine Panerai of Italy has done a much better job at co-branding than Girard. Or maybe I just like Officine Panerai more.
